Pinterest Lead Generation for Service Providers

So many businesses aren't using Pinterest for lead generation and they're missing out on a lot of potential clients! I don't know about you, but I much prefer sharing about my services on Pinterest where I'm actually going to get leads interested in my niche rather than shouting in the void of social media.

I know that every other social media guru out there is saying that TikTok is the platform to be on to generate new leads, but organic Pinterest lead generation is far superior!

Rather than taking your chances with the FYP or the ever-changing Instagram algorithm, Pinterest is a visual search engine, meaning that the leads coming to your site are people already interested in your niche and a solution to the problem that you're solving with your business! No more getting on the wrong side of TikTok or using a complicated formula for just the right number of hashtags.

If you're not already using Pinterest to gain more leads for your business, I guarantee you will be by the end of this post!

Creating Conversion Driving Pins

The content that's going to do well on Pinterest is likely not the kind of content that's going to do well on other platforms, BUT that doesn't mean there's no opportunity to repurpose the content you've already created (more on that later!). Pinterest users are problem solvers (they have BIG oldest sister energy). They're on the platform to get things done whether that's planning for their future tiny home or DIYing their side hustle's branding.

I like to ask myself these questions when I'm creating content for Pinterest for a client:

  • What are some FAQs that my ideal customer has about my niche?

  • What industry trends impact my ideal customer?

  • What insider knowledge can I share to help my ideal customer solve this problem?

I find it helpful to filter any repurposed content through a similar process!

  • Is this content solving a problem?

  • Does this content have enough context for it to provide value?

Make sure the problem you're trying to solve with that post is crystal clear in the graphic or in the first second of the video that you're sharing. Look at the two examples below. The first pin makes it clear that I'm sharing content about generating leads on Pinterest, but it's not really driving home what the true problem I'm trying to solve is. The second pin makes it clear that I'm helping anyone who comes across my pin get more clients using Pinterest lead generation. See the difference??

Once, you've created an eye-catching graphic or repurposed a short-form video, you're going to want to link that post back to your claimed domain.

Optimizing Your Site for Cold Pinterest Traffic

You're creating amazing, Pinterest-optimized content and your pins are getting clicks, BUT no one is booking your services. When clients come to me with this issues it's almost always because their site isn't optimized for cold Pinterest traffic.

Now wait, didn't I just say that people are coming to Pinterest looking for solutions and you're serving up your services as a solution on a silver platter?

Yes, I did, BUT it's not quite that simple. You can write an amazing, actionable tip packed blog post, but if it's not clear that you offer a product or service that can fix the problem they're facing, you're not going to see a huge spike in leads.

There are a few strategies you can use to fix this, and honestly, I recommend that you use all three!

  • Make it easy for potential clients to book your services! Link to your bookings or discovery call page at least once if not more in every blog post.

  • Include a blurb about your services (aka your "I help" statement at the beginning or end of every blog post.

  • Get your cold traffic to sign up for your newsletter ASAP, or even better a sales-focused nurture sequence, so you have more opportunities to nurture them into a paying client!
